Skeleboy Alpha version 0.0.5.4 is live!
Thank you guys for playing the alpha build of Skeleboy! I believe it's actually a beta now that it's out in the open, but nah. I like calling it an alpha build, since it's not the full game.
So, I've been looking at the data and it seems like most people are just playing the game once. They do a run, die, and quit. That is not how a roguelite is played! The difficulty curve of a roguelite slopes downward. It's the most difficult at the beginning, and gets easier when your character gets stronger and you unlock more cool stuff. But, players don't want to continue after a death. SO, this issue needs to be addressed, and Skeleboy has to be improved.
I've done a massive change to the game's difficulty and economy. In this new version (0.0.5.4), you won't lose coins or teeth when you die! So you will be able to save stuff and be richer in the next run! I hope this will make people want to take another run at beating Hell. I will also add a new store in the castle, where you can spend your coins. I just have to figure out the design, and if the purchases will be permanent upgrades, or just a boost for your next round. Game design is difficult, who could have thought!
There's also a new cool menu and language options now, even though the game hasn't been translated yet. It's coming!
